New PSE Circuit Breaker Explained

What is PSE Circuit Breaker?

If the mother index which is PSEI drops -10%, there will be 15 minutes halt in trading.
If it drops -15%, 30 minutes halt will be implemented.
If it drops -20%, 60 minutes halt will be observed.

Para hindi mabigla yung mga nag pa-panic selling at makapag isip isip muna sa trading.

However, this trading halts/pauses will only happen once a day.

“The adjustments are emergency measures necessary to protect investors and maintain order in the market. These will enable the PSE to better manage extraordinary volatility arising from fears over the COVID-19 pandemic," SEC chairperson Emilio B. Aquino said.
